Another new DesignBy2s Design -Goodwill Industries Serving Southeast Nebraska, Inc.

I am proud to announce the latest Designby2s design.  http://lincolngoodwill.org

Now, I know you all know what Goodwill is, so I don't really need to fill you in on all the details, but Goodwill is really about helping people help themselves.  That was also the goal in building the site.  When I talked with Sarah, Amanda, Beth and several other people at Goodwill they talked about the difficulties that they had keeping their site updated, how it was outdated, and how they really worked at the website not it working for them.  I feel that the system that we put in place really fills those gaps that were there before.

The site was built using a Wordpress backend that has several custom components built in to make their lives a little easier.   From the job and volunteer application process to the review of those applications to the calendaring and even the updating of the pages I feel that we hit the nail on the head.

The design of the site needed to be built sticking to the guidelines set forth by their partners but I was granted free reign to see what I could come up with.  Given the seriousness of the work that they do, I went for something a little different than what I have been working on recently and made a more clean and corporate design.

It was great to work with so closely with Amanda on the project and hearing the way that people were saying how it worked and looked made all the hard work that went into worth while.

A new Designby2s Design - Waraxe Bicycles

Waraxe Bicycles is a Lincoln Nebraska company that is run by a couple of guys that have a passion for bikes.  Waraxe bicycles is a bicycle (I know, duh) company that builds frames and custom frames for a group of people that are not exactly out for a ride to the park.  They are involved in the monster cross scene and some pretty serious competitions.  Their designs for their bikes really reflect their passion and their scene.

When Skip of Waraxe Bicycles asked me to build out his site, I knew it was going to be fun.  I was given a short list of items that they wanted, a couple ideas and the task to not make it "jankity".   The site relies heavily on jquery was an absolute blast to have nearly total freedom to create it however I thought would look best.  Their passion for bikes and the desire to make their dreams a reality has really been an inspiration for me and I hope that the site lives up to what they had envisioned.  I also hope it isn't too "jankity".

A New DesignBy2s Design - BigNuggBBQ.com

I am pleased to announce the launch of BigNuggBBQ.com.

BigNuggBBQ Company is a... well... yeah, a BBQ company, but it goes beyond just your normal BBQ joint.  Eric Dorman is BigNugg and his website reflects who he is and what his company is.  BigNugg BBQ Company is a restaurant/deli in Dixon California with tastes to hit anyone.  He has a wide range of deli sandwiches, BBQ plates and salads.  In addition to the deli, BigNugg also is involved in local farmer's market, catering events and occasionally putting his tongs in BBQ competitions.

The BigNugg bbq website is at it's simplest a single page website that relies heavily on jquery to create multiple pages within the page.  In addition to jquery, it is also using Google Web Fonts to really relay that chalk on a chalk board feel.  I really like the result and I think that Eric did too.  This is what he had to say, "dude. seriously? Thats my website! Its absolutely incredible."
