eCommerce on facebook? Yes please!

So the other day, I was sitting back thinking of ways to get more opportunities for some of my clients to get sales.  (Yes, seriously.  Celtics are out of the playoffs and football season doesn't start for 3 months.)  The buzz the past few years has been about social media and how people will continue to use it and rely upon it more and more.  So, how to join the two became the question.  Since facebook has 500+ million people using the service, they have a simple API to integrate with and I already had several accounts setup, that was the social site I decided to integrate with.  On the eCommerce side, eSellerate was the simple choice just because I spend most of my days working within their system and I know it backwards and forwards.  If there was a way to make it happen, these two platforms would be the path of least resistance.

After a couple of days messing with the integration points and creating a layout that would work within facebook,  I have a completely functional eSellerate webstore running within facebook.  (Woo Hoo!)  I still have a bit of work to do to clean up some of my coding and some of the design aspects of it, but that is going to have to wait for a few days.  Need to do some work to pay the bills and will then get back to the prototype.

Here is it, in all of it's glory.  The DesignBy2s Sample Store

If you have a product you are wanting to sell and would like to integrate with facebook, send me an email and we can talk about finishing up with prototype.
